" I recommend reading a summary of the story before watching the ballet because otherwise it's probably impossible to follow the action.
07 May 2018It was quite expensive but a really nice experience. The dance is not completely synchronous but I think that's not what it's about. The costumes and dancing were very nice and it felt as if every main character and group had its own personality because of their way to dance.
And of course the setting with the illuminated Prambanan in the background is unique. "

" I have watched Ramayana Ballet for four times, and never get bored. The fourth was a month ago, took my 3-years-old daughter. She loved it!!! Since then, she always asks Rama-Shinta everyday..and wants to be a Javanese dancer as well as them. The outdoor version is more dynamic and the scenery is so beautiful (because of Prambanan Temple background in the distance). The most memorable is ... there was a REAL FIRE on the scene when Hanuman attack Alengka Kingdom. "

" Performers were just dreadful. Music was ok but they could not dance. Like at all. And you pay high price. We were told that there are no class I and class II tickets and paid 300k per person. The only good thing was the view of Prambanan but you do not need to pay for that since you get similar view from outside. "
