" so, i googled search this one, and all reviews said De Wave is a go to place for Spa & Relaxation in Jogja. many reviews told to book in advanced because their service is really in a high demand. so it though, wow, i'm in for a good experience.
14 April 2018i booked through their contact listed on the website. message then on 9PM the previous night, they replied to me around 10AM the next day. reserved slot for 7PM, as their last order is 9PM and close at 10PM. i was told that even if i arrived earlier, still have to wait for my reserved slot time. no matter what.
i arrived there, looking at the offered treatment. and i was, wow this is like super cheap! the complete treatment only charged you about IDR250K. it was like half the price or even one third the price in my hometown, Bandung. feeling happy, i booked the Spa Treatment (foot bath, body massage, body scrub, body masker, totok wajah, shower) and adding a Nature Creambath to the package. The estimated time for all that should be 150 minutes plus 40 minutes.
i should be done around the closing time, 10PM. but let me tell you, all that package, i finished on 9.30PM. yeah, i let you guess what happened.
i am an avid fans of wellness treatment, and at this price rate the place should be categorized as med to high end. i'll just conclude several thing that ticked me off during the experience,
1. the place is great, have a nice ambient and all. the room i was placed in has an inner shower and body steam. but if you look closely, the bed sheet, the pillow towel, the body cover were not scream higiene at me. the smell is an aweful damp smell. the bed sheet was crinkled, as if it was re-used from previous treatment. and the highlight is, the kimono!! the kimono was damp, and well to me, feels like it was re-used several time for the customer placed in that room for the day. it just so, ugh.
2. the massage technique was so so. will not comment much on this one, but i've been experiencing a lot more fullfiling one. they don't really do my feet, and my shoulder or neck.
3. the totok wajah is actually great, but it went like a breeze. should be around 20-30 minutes as listed on the details, but i don't think so.
4. when they mean foot bath, it is literally foot bath, they don't clean your foot or pre-massage it a little.
5. they use sooooo much oil. when it is good if the oil is fragranced, unfortunately i can't smell one on this.
6. used too litle body scrub and lotion. both makes my body itched when lathered in it. the itch was not stopped until i retake shower at my hotel.
7. it would be great if the therapist asks for my consent first if my breast area would like to be scrubbed or maskered as well. i always been asked for this consent on any other place, so why... it is some "un-decent place" to be touched so freely right.
8. the creambath, uh well, i could do a better job by myself. literally just putting on the cream, put a hot towel around, and that's it. my feedback, please don't put hair treatment list on the service if you don't treat it seriously. i get it, one stop service and all. but customer want to get the best out of each the service.
9. served a cold ginger drink, mineral water, and candy after the treatment is done.
the feeling i got after the treatment? well, upset and poorly dissapointed to the point i booked another appointment in another well known spa just to get rid of this bad experient. so much for the "iconic" wellness place in Jogja. "

" I would have given zero star if I can. This is the worst spa ever and don't even think of coming at all. Called in advance and told that no advance booking on weekends but therapist available at 4:30. When we arrived before 4:30, mentioned that we have to wait till 5pm. We chose our package and informed that we will need separate rooms. The receptionist acknowledged but only informed at 5pm that there's ONLY COUPLE ROOM. We have to wait another hour if we want separate rooms!!!! Why was this not informed at the time when we informed of our choice of package? Simply atrocious. If the receptionist does not know how to arrange the appointments properly, be ready to lose more customers. Me, for one, will never step here again. "

" Decided to go for a massage there with my family despite the terrible reviews. Very pleasantly surprised! Had the best massage in a long time. The therapist I got (male) was great but the rest of my family said the female therapists delivered great massages too. The prices are unbeatable (90k rupiah for a 60 minute massage). True, there is a weird stagnant smell from the towels but they’re not gonna be anywhere near your face. Aromatherapy oils are also used during part of the massage. Try it! "

" We went twice during our 3 days stay in Jogya and we definitely enjoyed it! The therapists are really good at their job! I chose oil massage, once 60mins and once 90 mins. However, I don't really recommend the 90 min treatment because it turned to be only 70 mins! （a little disappointed) BTW, I can not believe that they even charged 20000 for the shower which should be included in the oil massage anywhere I have ever been. Generally, I recommend this place! "
