This place suffers from narrow walkways so it's difficult to look for what you want when there's a lot of people inside. " 24 h. Plenty of parking. There is a small 24h Fairprice in the same block so if you cant find anything in either supermarket, just pop over to the other. Staff here are efficient and proactive. They will stop whatever they are doing e.g. Shelving, placing price tags, and open the counters when they see the queue building up. Such work attitude and team spirit is commendable. "

" On Sunday 27-5-2018 morning, I realised l lost my Mastercard near paying machine no. 2 while exiting from the supermarket. I searched everywhere but could not find it. I told your staff and they quickly helped me to search for it. They even wanted to assist me to inform the bank to cancel my card if it was really lost. While we were still searching for it, a kind Samaritan couple came and gave the card to your staff. They said they found it on the floor near machine no.2. I was so happy to see my lost card. Your staff checked the name on the card to confirm I was the rightful owner before handing back to me.

19 April 2018A few bad apples. Rude and unhelpful. Also I question this store Spare ribs where they separates the Ribs from the spare ribs and sell the spare remains as Rib bones.
Butchers sells spare ribs in racks and this store had previously sold them in racks but now as chopped but no rib bones among the chopped bones.
The only store that tells me to reserve if i wanted it in racks of ribs.
There is a premium for rib bones but if spare ribs is sold as loin ribs then the management has to ensure customer this practice must stop. "

Usually their freshly packed Nasi Lemak would reach the supermarket from 12am onwards. That is when it is still warm and fresh. They do have wider range of fruits compare to NTUC. "

In the morning, butcher will be around to cut up freshly delivered pork. Attached side is a air conditioned food court with outdoor seats available. " Your neighborhood small supermart. Aisles can be narrow. Generally a good variety of products to fulfill residents needs. There is a bit of smell at near the entrance of the shop, due to the fresh seafood section. Lots of weekly offers. Usually crowded at about 6pm. To have a better shopping experience at Sheng Siong, I would suggest going to the one near Commonwealth MRT. "

" This is a very small supermarket which is built inside the ground floor void deck area of a HDB flat.
19 January 2018Although you can get many fresh produces like vegetable, meat, poultry and seafood, as well as dries goods, condiments, spices, prepacked food products, household cleaning product, etc but the walkway width between the display shelves are rather narrow. During peak houra, the walkway will be clogged by staffs restocking the goods and shopper stopped to choose their items on the shelves.
Do not expect a comfortable shopping experience and is definitely wheelchair UNfriendly. No publc toilet too. "

Be aware it is located in the basement, and the lift down there is one of the smelliest and darkest in Singapore!
Parking can be a pain, especially at peak hours. "

Periodic fresh deals include three large frogs for $10, three meaty mud crabs for $20 (excellent for a cold steam crab dish or chilli crab), chicken thighs (a steal), 2kg frozen chicken wings for under $8, catfish, etc. Recently our domestic helper bought a 10kg bag of fragrant Jasmine rice for $13.90! The rice was aromatic and delicious. At times Sheng Siong may also have a lucky draw for shoppers with attractive prizes. Its location in Geylang is a bonus as you can have a satisfying meal anytime (or a comforting supper 😉) before proceeding to Sheng Siong to do your weekly marketing. "

" Good grocery store with a great selection of dry goods, but also fruits, veggies and dairy products. It also has a small butcher desk with fresh meats and separate area for fish and seafood. This market is on two floors so make sure you check them both. The staff seems friendly and helpful. It is well stocked with everything but this can make it also feel like quite crowded at it’s busier times on the ground floor. The upper floor is much quieter. The pricing is very reasonable. Most payment methods are accepted. "

This SSS @ Geylang need to improve their premises cleanliness. Overall the price can be lower than NTUC and constant lucky draw is a bonus to customers.
Customers here are quite interesting, well it is Geylang - red light district..... and so many “females” patronizes SSS, basically people from all walks of life will gathered here to get their stuff.
So the whole stretch of Geylang, this SSS is the biggest supermarket that runs 24 hours non-stop, it operates during Chinese New Year as well.

Decent variety and good service: the store assistants will help you to your car with your bags. Payment system is a tad unusual - goods and are checked and bagged at a counter and the cashier will hand you a slip to make payment at an automated machine. This is presumably to reduce queue times and works fine but could be awkward if you have a bunch of heavy groceries. Overall a very good option for daily supermarket shopping. "

Even the cashiers are efficient and quick. My church is just a few minutes walk away n it is a pleasure to shop here than any other supermarkets. I think Sheng Siong has improved by leaps n bounds in service n products. However I hope they will sell more produce from Spore and other countries instead of mainly from China. "
