" Do not go to this hospital if you treasure your life. My mum passed away 2 months ago after being treated in Raffles Hospital for Abscess and stomach ulcer surgery. She was treated by Dr Ng Chin and Dr Eric Teh. Her abscess was treated with a surgery which leads to a huge open wound. Her health deteriorated after the abscess surgery and till now I so not even know whether it leads to any complications and resulted in her stomach ulcer. The doctors keep recommending procedures and scans but could not diagnosed the cause of her stomach ulcer. She passed away 2 months ago and her cause of death was gastrointestinal bleeding which till date I do know the cause or even the doctor could not tell me why. I regretted sending her to Raffles Hospital which probably leads to her death. I was still in extreme trauma and shock till date because my mum passing was very sudden. Expected so much more from a private hospital and also more competent doctors who are professional. Now that my mum is gone I felt my life is devastated and whether sending her to Raffles Hospital was the right choice in the first place. "

" Just want to share my experience on the waiting time:
24 May 2018The level 2 family medicine clinic is fast (it opens for 7 days a week till 9:45pm), should be seen within 10-15 min usually. My recommended choice especially on Sundays or public holidays.
If emergency department, it's faster than usual emergency departments as well, however the exact time depends on how 'urgent or life-threatening' your problem is, i.e. more life-threatening the problem, shorter the waiting time. For a non-life threatening problem, usually within 30 min.
All specialist clinics upstairs are by appointment only, if there is no delay by customers in front of you, usually less minimal waiting. "

" Lousiest management ever. After resigning, did not receive salary for almost 1 month. I had to chase after them . Very irresponsible. I would give 0 star. "

" Kudos to the following doctors at Raffles Hospital:
03 March 2018Dr JJ Lee (the eye doctor): He took one look at my granny and immediately diagnosed her with shingles of the eye. Gave the appropriate treatment and only asked that I send him regular photos via email to monitor the progress. Had only one-follow-up since then. Extremely patient, mild-mannered and meticulous.
Dr Lim Yun Chin (the psychiatrist): The most patient doctor I've ever encountered (possibly cos he is a shrink?). He knows and understands that most people see shrinks not because they are mentally disturbed or crazy, but because they are facing life issues that are beyond their control, so he offers a sympathetic ear and friendly advice as part of his "diagnosis and prescription". While some doctors prescribe a basket of pills, he adopts the "minimal drugs" approach as he knows "talking it out" is a better approach for his patients.
Dr Paul Chia (skin doctor):
While my GP thought that my skin blisters was caused by stress or allergy, he took one look and said: shingles! Did a swab and asked if I wanted the generic meds or the "heavy-artillery" for better recovery (no prizes for guessing which option I took).
Few months later, I had an in-gown nail. Went back to him for a procedure to remove it. While the anesthetic jabs were painful, his careful skills and calm demeanor rendered the procedure less harrowing. "

" Brought my child for consultation today at A&E. The doctor on duty suggested one option is to admit her for a day and get the specialist to visit her. We asked for the estimated cost and the doctor asked a nurse to speak with us. The nurse was not able to give us an overall estimate so we decided to admit her to another hospital. The doctor tried to dissuade us from going to that hospital saying that they might not admit her due to her age. We told him that since the nurse unable to give us even an overall estimated cost, we were uncomfortable to proceed with the admission. He then passed a remark saying that their nurse is not an accountant. Seriously? You need an accountant to give an estimate? I’ve been admitted to another hospital a couple of times (unfortunately) but they were more professional than this Atas hospital. I paid for the A&E fee and left. Never going to step foot here again. " Raffles Hospital is a very reputed medical center in the heart of Singapore and just like everything else named after Raffle, this one too caters mostly to the corporates. They have opened up a huge new tower which will more than double the hospital’s capacity.
15 January 2018Services wise, the hospital is fairly decent with good services and good ambience. The doctors feel professional and to the point. No big names here though. Most of the clientele is from Corporate engagements and that is why all the services are on the expensive side. You should expect professional services and prompt responses from the staff. All in all a good place to go for medical services if you work for an affiliated corporation. "

" Extremely poor attention to patients. i had a scheduled appointment at 1100hrs. i arrived at 1050hrs. i was made to wait and finally my turn for appointment came at 1150hrs. i had a similar experience on my past visits. the sad part is that they dont even have the courtesy to tell the patient that your turn will come after such a long time. Absolutely no respect for patients time. "

" Horrible A&E, 3 hours average waiting time for doctor for A&E which totally defeats the purpose of an A&E department. Will never visit again. "
