" Eating with the locals. Tasty food at affordable prices. Visited stall 12 which translates to Ting Ting Home made the best chilli pepper prawn noodles. Flavor went through the prawns. Large dish of noodles with 12 medium prawns under S$20. "

" In my opinion, hands down the best hawker centre in Singapore. It has numerous fantastic stalls from the Roasted Meat, soya bean curd, chicken rice, and fish soup.
Pro-tip: follow the crowd! Though Tian Tian Chicken Rice attracts a great volume of crowd, your time is perhaps better invested in other stalls. "

" Rich selection of food. Queue is not usually very long unless you go for the famous chicken rice stall. The dessert and butterfly puff is quite famous here as well as the fish soup just behind the first row. Crowded during lunch time in weekdays. Most shops closed in the evening "

" Maxwell Food Centre has a certain history in it, I believe. A wide variety of food offered, and at a valuable price. It is a great place for tourists to backpackers to anyone to have their meals there.

However if you are particular about the ventilation, that can't be help much. But it is good to have a meal at night there as it won't be that warm. "

" Wife variety of food options. Must try the Tian Tian chicken rice. Also at the other end, same side with Tian Tian, there's Penang Assam Laksa at the Yong Tau Foo store! "

" Maxwell Food Centre is one of the oldest hawker centre that is still standing in Singapore. Inside the centre itself, it houses many different types of cuisine, including those hard-to-find traditional delicacies that are fading off in Singapore.

Some food you may want to try:
1. Hum Chee Bing (Fried Oyster Fritter)
2. Sweet Potato Balls
3. Hainanese Chicken Rice. "

" Great place for authentic local food. If you don't know what you want or should order, choose the stall with the longest line of customers.
Has a craft beer stall that serves some of the best beers of Singapore and that for an affordable price. "

" This is definitely one of two hawker centres to taste local Singapore food. It is a must to go a little earlier to avoid peak periods during lunch and dinner. For lunch, go around 11:30 am, secure a table, and note down the table number. Next step is to order the food. Still not sure what to eat? No worries! The ubiquitous queues are a testimony to the popular dishes at this food centre and many more fantastic dishes that are waiting to be discovered. My favourite dishes have to be the spring rolls, rojak (fresh fruit/vegetable-salad in a unique prawn-based sauce), fish sliced soup in a delicious milky stock, and the famous chicken rice. Just give it a try for the taste, your value for money and rubbing shoulders with the locals. 😉 "

" Great hawker food near China Town in Singapore. Massive selection of all different types of food at very reasonable prices.
We tried a bunch of dishes and all were very good. A few not amazing, but for the price you are not going to find much better. Worth a visit. "

" Hainianese Curry Rice a must try if you like not too spicy and a little wet on your Rice.

Good Curry Rice With Pork Chop (Specially Season)
Mr Wong Kar Kwung is the 3rd Generation to carry his family trade. Had been in Maxwell Food since 1987

Curry Rice with cabbage, pork chop and onion egg will cost you $3.40

Very authentic and original taste. Got to try if you like to have plenty of Curry gravy on your Rice

Prior to this Maxwell they had been in Telok Ayer Street "

" If you want some great local food that is reasonably priced and tastes fantastic then this is a must eat place in singapore. Came here for lunch two days in a row and was never disapointed with the food they served. "

" Very hot at 2pm

Here for the famous Tian Tian Chicken Rice.
I had better chicken rice elsewhere.
Don't like the starchy gravy.

Also tried the Oyster Cake, look so impressive with all the artist and Anthony Bourdian's photo in front of the shop. But disappointed with it, not nice and us expensive. Mehhhh "

" Good place for tourists to visit for some local delicacies at local prices. It's non-airconditioned so please come in casual wear and bring lots of tissue. Speaking of which, the lunch crowd is really busy so try to avoid lunch hours. Also, the locals have a culture of reserving seats using tissue paper or name cards when they are ordering food. "

" This is definitely a place to go to taste local Singapore food. Preferable to go a little earlier to avoid peak periods during lunch and dinner. For lunch, we went around 11:30 am, secure a table, noted down the table number, have someone or something there 😉 to reserve the table. Presto! My favourite food has to be the spring rolls, rojak (fresh fruit/vegetable-salad in a unique prawn-based sauce), fish sliced soup in a delicious milky stock, and chicken rice. There many more food stalls that serve fantastic food. Just give it a try. The ubiquitous queues are a testimony to the popular dishes among the locals. Ciao for now! "
