The prison cells, where you can walk in on your own, were the highlight. "

" The Prison Museum (Muzium Jabatan Penjara Malaysia), is located
09 August 2017@ the end of Jalan Parameswara, Bandar Hilir, Melaka.
The building was originally constructed in 1860 by Governor Colonel Cavenagh as HM Prison. In 1964, it changed to Henry Gurney School 2nd Bandar Hilir. On 11 June 1990, it was upgraded to be Bandar Hilir Prison.
It is OPEN: 9am - 5pm CLOSED MONDAY (Foreigners RM6 / Locals RM3).
Next to the museum is a shop where they sell products made by Malaysian prisoners. Most times open at the same time museum is open. "
