" I stay at Malacca 3 days, everyday also went there. I'm tired but a lot nice food there too. Weekend is the best due to the night market. No need search for food so hard~ "

" Well known location hampered by difficulty to find parking spots. The best parking spot is at The Shores which is free but you need to walk along the Malacca river; it is okay since you can enjoy the scenery. At Jonker street, it has a public restroom. You need to ask a few stalls before deciding to buy something to get the best price. "

" Do not let the place fool you. It's a normal and perhaps even boring street in the day time but that will transformed into an all-happening night market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights where you can find virtually everything under the sun. Also a perfect place to savour numerous local delicacies. "

" Melaka is a very special place it combine history and modern development. The food is mix with Malay and Chinese style become special Nyonya style. The food is very special especially the curry, kuih and also sweet soup. You could walk around the town to discover the old shop, every shop have different style that you cant get in other state in Malaysia. If you are lucky you could even able to snap some home industries that can not be found in other place. This is unique place that you can relax and enjoy your holiday time. If you wish to plan for a short trip do plan it in your journey "

" This is mundane street during the day but on Friday and Saturday evenings it turns into a huge street market. The vendors setup up kiosks and sell everything from tourist trinkets to housewares. The street food was amazing and the atmosphere is fun and lively. This is the primary reason to stop in Melaka since the town is small and very little else to do. Enjoy! "

" Crazy busy during weekend night market. Wide selections of goodies and food to choose. Jam packed with tourist and locals. Day time is normal. Popular for tourists to walk around and shop. "

" I love this place, feels like thrown back to the old time in my other soul hehe... All of the buildings and structures in this area are still in good shape of their originality and paint in many colours. Most of the building are openly to the public for shopping, gallery, museum, restaurant and so. And in the evening the lights will enrich your walk. This place is good spot for photography. "

" Really loved my experience here. Bustling with life from tourists of all nationalities, enjoying the widespread food choices and trinkets. Enjoy great street fare at very reasonable prices.

I can never find this type of atmosphere in Singapore anymore.

Family friendly as well - had my primary school sister and parents walk through and we all enjoyed it. "

" Worth a walk. Old school chinese shops selling amazing art work and stuff. Good food joints. Very historic temples on the way. Worth a visit. But most shops close down at 5pm. Except for Friday to Sunday when they have night market "

" Interesting stalls and lively place. It's just too crowded and getting unpleasant with growing number of tourists every year. The food is also mediocre if not outright bad compared to what you can find in the coffee shops and food courts. "

" I enjoyed the walk. Here you can find old Chinese shops selling things that you can no longer find in big cities. The streets are narrow. Some pavements are uneven so be careful when walking as you may be too busy looking at the shops with their colourful displays. There are so many restaurants that you will have a hard time deciding what to eat. There are wall murals at the side alleys and along the Melaka River bank which will come alive from 6 pm onwards. "

Try the tricycle ride, round trip for 25 ringgit. Fried oyster, chicken and pork satay, see how they cut out the whole coconut. Hop on various cafe. "

" The most popular tourist spot in Melaka. Come at night on weekends to experience the night market and buy knick knacks. Come during the day to explore the normal stores - taste the local foods and buy handicraft and local goodies. "

" To a Texan, I almost felt like I was in San Antonio. I wonder why... The "Don't Mess with Texas" I mean "Don't Mess with Melaka" signs all over the place with the exact same font, colors, and design. The horse-drawn carriages ... I mean bicycle drawn carriages though they are a bit too shiny and noisy. The river walk and cruise... The Alamo ... all the historic Dutch buildings. And the Texas heat... Still a great place to visit for a day and has lots of unique history. "

" Walk down Jonker Street and inevitably you’ll encounter many stalls selling Cendul, a quintessential South East Asian dessert. Here in Melaka, the cendul is served with gula melaka, a sugar derived from a coconut tree. On a seriously hot and humid day, is one enough? "

" One of the best place to stroll around and it's one of the must-visit whenever you're in Melaka..the old buildings were beautifully painted. "

" Different kinds of shops, restaurants and stalls, bustling all the day especially at night where the street will be closed for night market. There are several famous eateries selling famous Hainanese chicken and rice balls, definitely worth a try. Other famous food like satay, laksa, durian pie can also be found.

To me it's way better than Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur, people are nicer here while hawkers in Petaling St are usually rude and impatient to tourists. The atmosphere here is more oriental, relaxing and original while Petaling St is becoming commercialized.

Btw, some museums in the area are also worth visiting such as Cheng Ho Museum which offers great and detailed exhibitions of the famous Chinese sailor/explorer, and Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum which recreates the daily life of old time Straits Chinese immigrants. "

" Its not a fun experience at here. Unless u no feeling.
Parking , traffic is jam , no signage or instructor given instruction in front is heavy jam
Food expensive ,even ice just given 1/4 glass upon request , not so friendly for this area business shop . & they wouldn't allow you use their toilet for not consume food. Totally bring down the image for this iconic place.

Suggest you have your dinner outside then come in this street for walk. "
