" Everything you could want from a used bookstore. Incredible amount of books from every genre, classical literature to obscure fantasy. Very cheap. Books in singapore are expensive, this is like an English charity shop. "

" This bookstore used to frequented in the school years as there was many legs of distance to be crossed. It is still the same old store. That has done very little to change or improve its ways. It looks nearly identical and in addition it is a time occupying habit to rearrange old books that have been given away years at a stretch. "

" This shop closed at 6:15pm on Sunday and not 6:30pm - i arrived at the bookstore at 6:15pm on Sunday and the entrance was already blocked with barriers and the shopkeeper was keeping the books back in boxes. I asked nicely if I can have 10 minutes to get a book, and with stoned lazy face the shopkeeper said NO. So if any of you wants to get any books from this shop, come super early. At least 1 hour before gazetted opening hours ends and have your fair chance on browsing and getting new books for yourselves. "

" One of the few "secondhand"/used bookstores left in Singapore (as of 2016). Bad news is: it isn't exactly run by booklovers; so don't expect the books to be shelved right, or have any sort of bookish engagement.
15 September 2016But unlike Book Point on the 3rd floor who are asking ludicrous fantasy prices for their used books (close to retail), Evernew is more realistic with their prices. At times, even more reasonable than fellow Singaporeans who inanely list their used/read books as "pre-loved" -like those two words together meant something- on Carousell (also asking close to retail): obviously they haven't purchased used books online before...
You'll be able to find Alexandre Dumas to Alain de Botton here. And copious copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul. There is also a shelf for Haruki Murakami. Novels are around SGD$2-5. Classics, $8-10. Graphic Novels, $10-$20. That's as much of a bargain as "the most expensive city in the world" can offer us readers (some would say "not much", I'm inclined to agree).
Evernew also runs weekly book fairs at malls around the island. Look out for those; popular paperbacks go at 3 for $10. "
