" Similar temple to Prambanan but smallar size. However it is more pleasant to visit this temple as it is usually quiet here because of less visitors. "

" Realy impressive buddist temple which is located at the same Prambanan temple site. But lot of people missed this temple and therefore it is less crowded. Best way to visit is by catching the tourist shuttle at the exit of Prambanan temple. It is a free of charge if you bought combined ticket for both Borobudur & Prambanan. "

" Had a great time visiting this temple. It is crazy to think that this is the 2nd largest Buddhist temple in Indonesia after Borobudur but it is not very well known and visited. At least you can have all the place by yourself when taking photos. You can also see nice sunset from this site. "

" Candi Sewu is the second largest Buddhist temple in central Java after Borobudur and dates from 8th to 9th centuries AD. The temple is dedicated to the Buddha Vairocana, whose statue would have been contained in the main chamber, however it is no longer there. The complex is based on a Mandala design, a trait of Vajrayana school complexes. Vajrayana learning came to Java in the 8th centruy through contacts with the Pala empire. The main temple structure has been well restored and can be explored inside. There are dozens of smaller structures surrounding it, some restored but many simply piles of stones. Although just adjacent to the main Prambanan temples, few visitors to that site make it to Candi Sewu, making it a more peaceful place to explore. "

" If you are going to Prambanan please put this on your list. You won't be disappointed and much less people than Prambanan. This is also a good spot for sunset. If it had not been destoryed so terribly it would be Top 3 in Jogja. The other two are Borobudur and Prambanan. Personally, I like this the most. You can walk here from Prambanan or have a ride. There is also a small museum near here and you will see some nice Rakshasa statues. They are pretty cute. Enjoy "

" Really incredible, almost as magnificent as Prambanan temple which is half s kilometer away and best thing is, when we visited (1st of December), there was almost noone there, we literally saw just two more people in the hole temple, unlike the Prambanan temple which has hundreds of tourists (still quite comfortable to visit though) which actually makes the visit to this ancient site more magical. I'm not sure why most people ignore it. Definitely not to be missed if you are visiting Prambanan, it's only a short walk away (10minutes) or grab the little train that goes to here from Prambanan. " My favorite temple in the Prambanan park. Tourists on the $25 ticket get free shuttle to Sewu. Loads of rubbles still lie around.
The main temple is nicely reconstructed.
Not so many people come here, so it’s a good place to take pictures. "

" Very few people knew about this Candi, most of them focused on the prambanan temple only. Sewu Candi is where folk tails comes from of which Bandun Bondowoso had to finished 1000 candi to fulfill Roro Jongrang request. You can go there using golfcar from the main candi area. Must visit place ! "

" My favorite temple so far. This Buddhist temple has exquisitely amazing atmosphere. Buy ticket from Prambanan Temple first, and wait for local shuttle bus to take you to this temple. However, I recommend you to go there on foot. So you can enjoy this temple as long as possible, until 5 pm. "

" This temple is a part of the Prambanan complex. You won't get in to see this lovely temple by itself - you have to pay $25 US, which is a day light robbery. "

" Allthough it's at the back of the grounds of Prembanan, people seem to miss it. Don't, because albeit small, it's very pretty. Take the minitrain. "

" Sehr schön ruhig und etwas "mysteriös", wenn man sich da alleine befindet. Da die meisten Touristen nur den Tempel Prambaban besuchen. "
