01 December 2015- Air-condition didn't work in 2 of the rooms in the main villa and in 1 of the attached rooms.
- Electricity kept tripping throughout our 5 day stay.
- Wifi works only on the ground floor in the main villa.
- Lady owner is not very pleasant to deal with.
- Support staff at the villa were great. Always smiling, always helpful - only saving grace.
My comments upon reading the owner's comments below:
The comments from the owner below are reflective of how we had to deal with her. For the entire duration of our stay, the air-conditioners in the 3 rooms did not work and the electricity in the villa tripped multiple times everyday and night throughout our stay. The staff knew about it from the very first night we were there. They even called an electrician to help resolve the issue. Unfortunately this was never resolved. We find it hard to believe that this issue was isolated to the villa only because we walked out of the villa several times when the electricity tripped to check if this was an issue occurring in the area. It was not. The electricity tripping every now and then, especially in the night, was a major concern for us because we had our elderly parents with us. The owner was well aware of this and we explained it to her. We were astonished that the owner refused to acknowledge our feedback.
We met the electrician but never the owner's husband. We were told that her husband would meet with us a day before our departure but he never turned up and instead sent Dewa, the villa's driver.
It is good that the owner has clarified that wi-fi is only available in the main and common areas (this means, the living room and pool areas). Do take note if you intend to book this place.
There is obviously a serious lack of communication between the owner, her husband, and her staff. At no point in time did we, her guests, suggest to her or her husband (whom we have yet to meet) or her staff, a refund. We paid the accommodation amount in full prior to our arrival.
When the owner called us a day before our departure we voiced the issues we had about the villa. At no point in time did we ask for a refund. We were shocked when she said there were no such issues and none of her staff had told her about it. It is inconceivable that the owner did not know about this because her staff told us they would have to get her (or her husband's) permission before calling an electrician. Instead of listening to us, she accused us of making it up. At no point in time did the conversation ever get 'aggressive'.
It was extremely unpleasant for us to deal with her. As a family, we enjoyed our stay in Bali. But it was more because of the company than the accommodation. I hope she gets that.
This villa is cheap compared to others in the area, and for a reason. "
