" Very pretty temple to visit, especially if you’re already in the area to see the rice terraces. Parking was 2 or 3k and entry was 15k - they give you a sarong to wear. We didn’t spend ages looking around but there was lots to see and I can imagine if you had a guide there’d be amazing history to learn.
People were feeding the fish which was pretty cool - so many of them to see! If you’ve already seen loads of temples in bali then you won’t see anything new here but perhaps if you’re only thinking of visiting one or two I think this would be a good one as it’s so large and pretty.
Don’t buy water from the local sellers - 20k for a bottle! Went at 1pm on a weekday and it wasn’t busy at all. "

" This was one of my favourite temples in Bali. The entrance fee is 15k Rupiah pp adult. So it's quite fair, and you can get a sarong. The stairs are the worst from anywhere else as they are quite steep and there are a lot. But you can rest. There are a lot of stalls along the way and they will all ask you to buy something, but just keep going past them if you want.
You can also stop and take photos along the way as there are great viewpoints.
The main area is a stunning carved rockface with water running, a mini waterfall and a river within the trees. Gp early so you can manage the steps and walk in cooler weather. But definitely worth it. "

So it is a must visited place if you are in Gianyar area. "

" Perfect to be visited late in the afternoon after all the tourists crowd. When you get off the car at the parking lot, there are many shop's ladies are offering you sarong but you do not have to buy as you can use one from the temple by the entrance after the ticket counter. It is worth to walk around off the main Temple complex as there arr stunning scenery of river valley and rice terraces. " Another mysterious temple place positioned on the bottom of rice field valley, so only way to access it is by walk through a staircase from nearby village.
At the very entrance you might be hassled by street hawkers trying to sell you a sarong with an argument that it's requirement in order to enter sacred temple. It is true you have to cover your legs with cloth when entering any temple in Bali, but like everywhere else, they will borrow you one at ticket check right before staircase steps so don't worry about sarong hustlers. "

" Beautiful place where you can take a lot of great photos. No need to buy any sarong outside as you can borrow one from the temple. Cheap entrance fee.
Don't miss the rice field areas (I think many people did miss it when I was there and I didn't see the pathway at first when walking to the temple).
For the explorers: I walked also south of the temple and village and took the alternative/parallel route south (follow the cyclists tour if you see them) and you will see more and better rice fields/terraces. I don't recommend to walk further then, was not much after the rice fields, so better head back to main road for transportation. "

" Beautiful Temple near Tirta Empul Temple Tampak Siring. You will need mo energy for trekking to visit the temple. White water river and beautiful panorama of rice field , will see on your way to temple. "

" This is an amazing place with very few tourists. Most tourists are in Tirta Empul, but this temple is a lot more beautiful and equally powerful on an energetic level. 15K for entry. "

" Very nice temple, even after google send me to a place 1km away, last year. Carved in the stone and worth to be seen. "

" Quiet, much quieter than Tirta Empul even if you come during the peak day time. Highly recommend coming here for a serene moment. "

" Peaceful ground. We were granted special permission for a yoga session at the ground. 👍 "

" Pretty temple, long walk to get there with many steps so make sure you're fit enough to do so! Lots of stalls with people trying to sell you stuff along the way. The spring water trek is not worth the detour "

" One of the most beautiful, unique and hidden temple in Bali. Not many tourists will go here, so it's very quiet. There's a long and beautiful walk down the hill (with good stepping stones) across rice fields and small streams. Great stone statues inside. "

" Beautiful temple in the middle of the rice fields and forest. A lot of stairs to climb up and down but the pretty scene around will distract your hesitancy. Very quaint, clean and historical inside. "

" Gunung Kwai is a really cool place to check out the temple is caved into the tbe sides of a gorge with a lovely river running though it. Its one of my fave in Bali. Beware there are many steps down which are easy, but the trek back up can be pretty sweaty!! "

" If you have time this is an ok temple to stop by in the area. But not a must see. There is a a fairly steep walk to get down to it, however. So not the best for anyone who has a hard time doing a good amount of stairs. "

" A must when in Ubud. You feel like your right in an Indian Jones film. Takes your breath away when you go around the corner to see the temples. Stunning and worth every penny.
22 January 2017The stairs with all the shops are however very annoying if you don't want to buy! "

" Beautiful temple lost in the middle of the forest and rice fields. Impressive carvings, it is also a quieter temple than others, mainly due to the stairs preceding it's entrance. Loads of shops at the entrance so you can buy a sarong if you forgot yours or have a refreshing coconut at the end. "
06 January 2017Susanna Mariotti
" Temple carved in a giant stone. You can really feel the real religious spirit here. The king used to visit this temple and there are many steps. Sorrunded by a wonderful view of the rice terraces.
21 November 2016A little bit annoying all the ladies at the entrance that want to sell you the sarongs. You can also rent one from the temple, if you don't have it. "

" After going to the Tegalalang rice terrace, this is a great stop via a different way back to Ubud. Interesting temple in amidst the backdrop of a rainforestesque area. There were beautiful rice fields by the entrance and drinks and local products available going down to the temple. The climb back up is a little difficult, but is doable for most people. "

" Such a magical place. Visited the temple on Sep 18th and it was a local holiday. We saw women and children carrying offering walking down the long steps to the shrine. There were people playing music and celebrating. It's a very wonderful experience. "

" A long way to heaven..... This beautiful mysterious Pura located deep down the jungle. To reach this Pura we need to take a lot of stairs down by passing through rice fields and crossing the river. Very tough way to climb up back too...So prepare your stamina, own water and sport shoes. Beautiful scenery everywhere more than you can expect...

It is important to pick the right time to visit this place as it could be so crowded with visitors. Best time is 8am and 5 pm. "

" Ancient temple in beautiful lush green jungle. We came from the north and navigated with Google maps. We didn't arrive at the main entrance. A local guy showed us the way through sawa's and jungle. Slippery and steep. We borrowed a sarong from the guy. We were a bit suspicious but it al turned out well. "

" Another mysterious temple place positioned on the bottom of rice field valley, so only way to access it is by walk through a staircase from nearby village.
16 August 2016At the very entrance you might be hassled by street hawkers trying to sell you a sarong with an argument that it's requirement in order to enter sacred temple. It is true you have to cover your legs with cloth when entering any temple in Bali, but like everywhere else, they will borrow you one at ticket check right before staircase steps so don't worry about sarong hustlers. "
David Lu
" Beautiful place where you can take a lot of great photos. No need to buy any sarong outside as you can borrow one from the temple. Cheap entrance fee.
24 July 2016Don't miss the rice field areas (I think many people did miss it when I was there and I didn't see the pathway at first when walking to the temple).
For the explorers: I walked also south of the temple and village and took the alternative/parallel route south (follow the cyclists tour if you see them) and you will see more and better rice fields/terraces. I don't recommend to walk further then, was not much after the rice fields, so better head back to main road for transportation. "

" Easily the prettiest, most worthwhile temple to see in the greater ubud area. It's lower altitude means pictures are best in the late afternoon and early morning, so make this the first or last so of the day. Lots to see and photograph, take your time. Sarongs are supplied free at the gate. "

" This place looks like it's been built in a quarry. It's a nice calm place to sit and just watch the fish in the big pond. The way the jungle just grows down the sheer walls is just amazing, You could be in a (Apocalypse Now ) film set. "
16 May 2016Richard Levy
" A beautiful temple. One of the biggest attractions is that it is much less visited than other temples in the area although it has great significance in Bali. "
28 April 2016Diane Bao
" A relatively easy 10 min walk down stairs and through rice fields to a beautiful, peaceful temple. We arrived early (around 8:30) and had the entire place to ourselves - even the souvenir vendors weren't out yet! "
10 March 2016Eve L
" The fact that this holy water temple is the least visited temple complexes in Ubud make it even more special to me. I'm captivated by the surrounding beauty and the tranquility. "

" My favorite temple in Bali/Ubud! The complex is so huge that there is so much to see. We went late and there was hardly anyone there. It was beautiful and peaceful. Amazing photo opportunities. "
12 February 2016Łukasz P
" One of the most beautiful temples on Bali, hidden in the forest and pretty hard to find so fortunately you won't spot big crowds here. Locals will show you the way and it's accessible on motorbike from Ubut. "
09 February 2016Denny Ryanto
" A truly hidden gem. A temple complex located in the middle of the forest aging around thousand of years ago. The view was nothing short of spectacular. To access this place, make sure you ask the locals for directions. My first try using Google Maps got me lost to a small village. "

" グヌンカウィ・スバトゥ寺院 Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu は、グヌンカウィ遺跡に近く、綺麗な池があるということで行ってみました。奥の泉のような美しい池に、仏塔がたっています。様々な石像もユニークな顔立ちでした。バリでもっとも気に入った寺院です。 "
