" One of the best places I’ve seen! We stayed for 10 nights at number 104 in March /April 2018.
08 April 2018The resort territory is huge, but all the villas are hidden from each other, so you don’t hear or see your neighbours.
The place is quite hilly, but buggies are always there to take you around.
I don’t think I’ve ever experience such warm water - both in the main pool and your private one. We had some problems with our own swimming pool (water stopped flowing several times), but the engineers were quickly able to fix the issues.
Be careful with leaving stuff outside - we had some of our fruit stolen by monkeys.
The place is mostly targetted at couples, but we didn’t feel out of place with 2 children (3 and 6 year olds). The kids club is always there and staff were fantastic.
Breakfasts were really good - wide selection of fresh fruit and even options from a la Carte menu.
So thanks a lot! We had a really good time at Banyan tree :) "

" It is a well managed resort particularly good for couples and adults. The villas are spacious and overlook the sea except some where the view is blocked by trees. The resort is unusually pricey. "

" The best hotel in Balii! Is more like resort than a hotel.. love the services and very spacious room.. just love everything right there! "

" A place to really relax, enjoy spa and other facilities. Staffs are all very nice, respectful, smiley face all the time. No double standard treatment towards asian or non-asian. I can say top notch service. Villa is very clean and comfortable. Worth the money and they will able to think and give service beyond your expectation at times. Only the jacuzzi in villa need a new tiles to compensate the whole ambience. Be careful of Tar by the beach where you might end up waste time washing slippers and legs. "

" A place so quite and beautiful. Self sufficient, don't need to go out. Great staff and hospitality "

" Service was impeccable, buffet breakfast has a wide selection including prosecco, villa staff intuitive to needs and communicate frequently to ensure your stay is good. Only flaw would be the expensive Indonesian food which was only subpar in taste. "

" all good, relaxed and peaceful... though, the beach is bit dirty with tar balls from ships (мазут). also, the price is overkill. but in general I assume this is the best u can find on bintan island. "

" We had a fabulous family vacation to Banyan Tree.
11 October 2017From our greeting at the ferry terminal to the welcoming check-in staff through to the golf casrt drivers, resort restaurant & pool staff to the Manager of Banyan Tree. Everyone made us feel welcomed and taken care of.
We stayed 2 nights. The first in the standard villa and the second night in a 2 bedroom ocean view and private infinity pool villa. Both villas were lovely with relaxing views and all the room amenities you could require. I highly suggest to use the mosquito repellant and coils as soon as the afternoon starts to slip away. We didn't know where ours was the first night so ended up with a few bites 🤔.
Food was superb. I highly recommend trying the local cuisine especially if you enjoy spicy flavours. Their western food was also very tasty and well prepared.
The hotel pools were refreshing and clean. Because we stayed at Banyan Tree we had access to the sister resort pool as well. There is a kids club at Asana Resort but we didn't use as our kids were too young. But it looked good.
There are planned events which are well organized and fun. We did the Turtle feed and release program which was amazing to be a part of.
Overall we had a great short vacation at Banyan Tree and will most certainly return. Special thanks to the Resort Manager (Ibnu) and Brian who carted us around the Resort many times. "

" Restful, calm, idyllic... essentially Bali. Built on the cliff-tops of Jimbaran, my favourite area in Bali, this private hide away is justly chosen by A-list celebs. Rated highly, I went to see for myself what the hype was about and found myself falling love with the views from the top and promises of secluded pristine beaches below. Frangipani flowers litter the pool and their perfumed petals leave an exotic, heady scent everywhere. Cocktails poolside in shaded pergola beds make it almost impossible to leave. The restaurant is perfection. It's got a special place in my well-travelled, best-ever list of happy moments. Well worth the spend. If ever there was a time to splurge, it's here. "
21 July 2017Ali Al-Mane
" Amazing place and pool is great with Jacuzzi. But A/C broke down and they provided a standalone unit. Food is not to my liking. only restaurant that I can eat in is the pool bar as it has traditional menu of burger, pizza and pasta "

" This small luxury resort provided a sense of space, from the lobby to the dining venues and through to the individual villas. We were impressed by the overall spaciousness of our pool villa especially the oversized bathroom. It was akin to staying in one of our own homes. We also enjoyed plenty of personal space as we moved around the resort.
14 March 2017The general quietness of the resort and the landscaping of flowering trees offered a sense of calm, serenity and beauty. You can't miss the banyan trees planted in eye-catching spots around the hotel. The same atmosphere continues into the shared infinity pool area where we lounged on day beds and gazed upon the Indian Ocean. Special thanks to pool attendants Nami and Kadek for helping us with photos, drinks and towels daily.
We appreciated the sense of privacy offered by the location and villa design. Perched on the edge of a cliff surrounded by greenery makes the resort less accessible to public. The villa was designed as a self-contained space to prevent prying eyes from above and sides while we continued to enjoy views of landscaped gardens and the ocean from our private infinity pool. The staff also respected our need for privacy in their interactions.
It wasn't difficult to understand why Banyan Tree Ungasan was popular with couples and honeymooners. "

" A beautiful, peaceful space! It was mentioned in Lonely Planet - but we couldn't find it on maps. Now it's added and I hope other ppl enjoy the sight of this tree as much as we did. "

" A large splurge resort at the southern tip of Bali, on a cliff, viewing the great ocean.
26 September 2016Waze brought us to the wrong place of the same name. so I decided to use Google Maps to make sure we went to the right place. The resort is large, impressive at the gate, and we saw not-so-tall banyan tree in front of the lobby. Nice lobby, but I think, the Ayana is more impressive. The place is so huge so we go here and there by taking a buggy. The Villas are quiet and private.
Ju Ma Na is the iconic restaurant within the compound, built on a tall cliff viewing the ocean. Service is good although things are a bit slow here. Slow down and relax. "

" Been here 3 times in the past decade, place hasn't changed much. Service is top notch, as is expected of a Banyan Tree property. Wonderful views from the sea view villas. great for short weekend getaways! And yes, do try the spa! "

" Absolutely stunning. Be careful of the monkeys, they can get aggressive. "

" Nice place but service staff isn't as good as other resorts. Given the brand name of Banyan Tree, this resort is especially disappointing. "

" We stayed 2 nights at the Villa of the Rocks. It was a fantastic stay - very relaxing and to look out of the window to such a beautiful sea view takes your breath away. The sound of the waves crashing outside your villa as you fall asleep -- that was pretty awesome to.
21 October 2014All the GOs that we met spoke perfect English - they were all obliging and tried their best to accommodate all of our requests which included a late check-out.
Service was prompt and always with a smile.
No complaints about the ambience. the service or the staff.
The only serious thing I found lacking was the food. Food quality was not up to par - especially for the US prices that you have to pay...yikes!! We tried all the restaurants available at both Banyan Tree as well as the sister resort Angsana and I would recommend none of them. Although The Cove, which was touted as a Mediterranean restaurant but which really was an Italian restaurant was not too bad.
The signature dishes at Safforn - their Thai restaurant were terrible...very disappointing.
Oh and on the first night, we were awakened at around 3 a.m. by very loud sounds of a motor running. We thought it was a helicopter or something hovering above us and we even saw flashlights...we thought intruders were trying to enter via the seafront and were panicking for a moment. The next afternoon we saw/ heard the same sound and realized it was a fishing trawler :-) "

" Worth a expensive price.
23 March 2014Breakfast at Bambu restaurant was the worst of all in the resort but that was also satisfying. I hope Bambu restaurant could serve more foods than now in the future. Too small. But food was good. "

" If you are looking for passion and private time with your partner, this is the place to laugh and love in beautiful appointed Villa's designed to make you feel special and just enjoy your personal space together. "

" Food at onsite restaurant Saffron is good but prices on the high side given size of servings. Most dishes are in the range of US$15-$30. 3 dishes plus the complimentary starters and 4 varieties of rice not enough for two diners. However the 4th dish we ordered was the best - Massaman. US$18. A kind of "chap choy" creamy mixed vegetable (including nut) curry served with roti. The small complimentary dessert was a nice finishing touch. Otherwise service is very friendly, quite prompt, decor is pleasant if you enjoy dim erm "romantic" lighting and piped traditional music. Clean and comfortable. All facilities work. Reasonably well designed. Like other resorts in this region eg Berjaya Langkawi. I mean it is clearly high maintenance and not what I would do for own home. But it is nice to live by the trees with the squirrels, have a jacuzzi open to the bats and dead leaves, a mosquito canopy over the 4-post bed that might collect dead insect bodies, and no mozzie screens anywhere so that air conditioning and keeping doors and windows closed becomes more or less compulsory - as long as somebody else takes care of the maintenance and utilities bill! ;) Another onsite restaurant is Treetop. A good buffet spread with local specialties such as porridge, Satay Lilit & Lontong next to the usual western fare - breads cheeses cereals cold meats hash browns pancakes etc The staff all speak good English. No Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Melayu necessary. Don't even need Rupiah if all you do is stay within the resort. We paid tips in Rupiah but I am certain USD would have been ok. :) Some staff have relatives in Malaysia and a few are probably native Singaporean or perhaps Malaysian. So English-speaking residents of Malaysia/Singapore should feel right at home here. They even use the British 3-pin plug instead of the usual Indonesian configuration so no adaptors necessary. Note this is a resort. The idea is to chill out, relax, and be pleasantly surprised by the service every now and then. Our unit came with open air jacuzzi. Others will have their own swimming pools. There are also spa facilities and communal swimming pools. And a library with a limited selection of DVDs. It's far from everywhere, with the nearest town half an hour's drive away. Sea swimming is not advisable due to jellyfish. You get complimentary bottle of water & anti - mozzie wet wipe at the swimming pools. All in it's a good place to spend a few days off from the daily grind. They have a reasonable selection of TV channels and fast wifi so you are not completely cut off from the rest of the world. "
