" Dive masters are friendly and professional. They are good at spotting marine life (eel, octopus, sharks, shrimps, various critters, etc)
23 May 2018The dive sites here are very rewarding as they are full of life.
Equipments look worn.
The dive shop would do better if they have better management and customer service. They do not record divers who are going out on dives on the board or anywhere else. Imagine if an incident happen during the dive, nobody at the shop knows who is out there and where the divers are. "

" HORRIBLE AND DANGEROUS EXPERIENCE! We had such a disappointing experience with Rubiah Divers where we were diving with a completely untalented, amateur instructor who put us in danger. We told Rubiah about this and they agreed to refund our payment BUT NEVER DID. Such an unprofessional business shouldn't be allowed to exist! We will not stop contacting you until we get our money back!
30 March 2018First thing that struck us was when we sailed out to Rubiah Island and the boat we were in almost hit three other divers in the water, to which our instructor said "Oh, we almost killed those divers, haha". Just to be clear, we did not find this amusing at all - especially me, who was completely new to diving and was going to be in the same spot as the other divers within minutes.
When we got into the water, our instructur guided us out around 15 meters from the coastline where we were supposed to do our first descend and do the two exercises we had discussed: Removing regulator and put it back in + clearing mask from water.
He drags me through the water, at some point by my air hose, making me clench my teeth around the mouthpiece to make sure he doesn't actually drag it out.
We had barely touched the sand with our knees, 3-4 meters down, and equalized the pressure in our ears before the instructor began the first exercise. I had never in my life been this far under water and was nowhere near comfortable yet with all the gear, breathing through the regulator and so on. But I did the first exercise (removal of regulator) with pounding heart, and afterwards I was quite out of breath. Instead of giving me a break to readjust to the situation again after the first exercise, the instructor immediately moved to second exercise. He kept repeating it and I kept trying to signal that I wasn't ready yet. Suddenly he just grabbed my mask and let water in which startled me and caused me to accidently breathe through my nose, leading in a lot of saltwater to get into my respiratory system.
I did the exercise and emptied the water from the mask anyway, trying to focus on breathing through the regulator. Before I get a chance to open by eyes and recover, he opens and fills my mask one more time and fills it all the way up with water. At this point I'm very scared, stuck under water with an instructor who is doing things to me that we have not agreed on. I empty the mask one more time and he begins tapping my mask (another sign, I have no clue what means), I try opening my eyes and he signals "well done" but at this point I'm so freaked out, scared, hyperventilating that I just want to get up. I signal several times thumbs up before he takes me to the surface.
I explain to him that I have saltwater everywhere in my system at this point and I feel VERY uncomfortable. His only respons is to keep asking me when I'm ready to go back down and when I tell him I need a few minutes he just mocks me and laughs at me.
My boyfriend joins us at the surface, after getting everything that happened under water on his GoPro, and several times tells our instructor that I need time to recover from this. Instead of giving me just this, the instructor keeps trying to push me to go down, asking again and again, laughing when we tell him I need to recover from what just happened. It gets to a point where none of us really feel comfortable diving with this guy and we, sadly, have to call the whole thing off, after only around 10 minutes under water. "

" Not a great experience, very unprofessional and poorly maintained equipment. There's a line between being relaxed and chilled and being too care free and slack on safety and care. I hadn't dived in over 2 years so wanted to do a quick refresher dive but they said it was fine and dived without one, luckily I felt comfortable with my ability to do so. All 5 of my dives I had problems with equipment, two dives my pressure gauge was faulty and skipped from 90 bar to 10 bar, luckily I noticed at 10 and not when my air ran out, could have been a very serious incident. All faulty equipment was then put back on racks and not taken aside for fixing. Would never dive with them again. "

" Great dive masters, they know the area very well since it's the oldest dive shop in Sabang. The spot on the other side/past kilometer zero is astounding. Wall with healthy corals, great visibility, and full of creatures, eels, barracuda, rays, etc. "
